Summary
This is an AU story in which I play fast and loose with the
first season. While I'm just as glad that Ethan got
eliminated from the actual show (I don't think he would have
added much on the screen) I thought it would be fun to play
out the relationship here as Scully gets dragged deeper and

Its November 1989 - Mulder is a profiler in VCS and Scully a pathologist in Quantico when their paths cross.
This is kind of a case fic but the case is the background. This is a fic about the scenes between the high adrenaline action sequences of solving a case and how there is usually loads of down time and waiting for leads or test results.

Summary
“Move,” Mulder orders, his voice low and gravelly, wrapping a large hand around Scully's bicep and pulling her aside.
She struggles against him, mentally reviewing the profile, desperate to think of a way to stop this. The other victims hadn’t been violent for violence’s sake. Reduced to their basic instincts, they had fallen back to protect what they had considered theirs.
She needs to get Mulder out. And as much as she hates appearing weak, she knows exactly how to do it. She knows exactly what Mulder considers his.
