They have her family, and she can’t pay enough to protect them. Bellemere, Luffy, Usopp, Nojiko, Chopper, Zoro, Robin, Sanji, Franky, Brook… one or two or all of them, staring down a gun. And it should be laughable – she’s seen several of them tank bullets before, slice them in half, bounce them right back at the barrel – but in this moment, a gunshot feels like the end of everything. A tax, a bail, a bounty, and she never has enough.
They look at her, there’s a horribly familiar laugh, and then…
Well. Then she wakes up.
(Nami has a nightmare, followed by a late night conversation in the kitchen. Bonding ensues.)

Emily, tiger plush nowhere to be seen, slowly approaches. In turn, Grace kneels down so they can be of equal eye level.
She's shaking so badly, her knees feel like they're going to drill through the floor.
“Is that really you?” Emily asks, in that same, scared little voice she used when they first met. Grace never wants to hear it ever again. “Grace?”
“Hi Emily.” Emily gasps. Grace smiles through her tears. “Will you come here, baby?”
Emily comes home on a Tuesday.

“The fight?” She asked, looking at Mira.
“The Idol Awards, fighting with Gwi-Ma, or you know. Any part of it.”
The implication laid heavy in the room, because of course Mira was talking about the three of them behind the stage. Divided. Scared.
“I don't know, maybe,” She shrugged, trying to shake the night from her head. It wasn’t that big of a deal, not enough to be having flashbacks, or panic attacks, or whatever.
It could have been the fight with Gwi-Ma, probably, definitely was.
