布什因他们最近的成功而不停地赞美他，这几乎成了霍恩布洛尔迫切应对的危机。唯一救他免于致命羞辱的是，幸好布什醉得厉害，连一艘护卫舰从他眼前驶过都未必能察觉。

《汉月照青莲》简洁版
太白醉卧襄阳郭，月堕指隙，白衣污若皱帖。忽腐气转清苦，睁目见一伟丈夫，方揉髀自嗟。视其佩刀，哂曰："刃钝矣。" 丈夫怒按刀，太白遽觉非梦。询年，乃建安六载。遂狂笑环走，言及后事，谓"使君当践祚成都，今犹作守户犬"，酒泼绘舆图显西川形。丈夫色变，盖昭烈刘玄德也。
备虽疑其妄，然闻其言语若有其事。及旦，署为书佐。后太白在校场录粮，笔走《蜀道难》句，云长见而奇之。
越数日，玄德访隆中，得诸葛氏。孔明初见太白，观其沙书《行路难》，笑指"多歧路”三字曰："较隆中樵径尤曲。”又见"直挂云帆济沧海”，竟成谶语。
建安二十二年，洛阳定鼎。庆功宴前，白欲窃饮，为孔明羽扇所阻，备亦抚其肩，惊白忽叹然道："莫要如此，恐醒在春秋简中。”满座粲然。
章武十年，太白醉卧锦江畔，怀出师表，闻童诵"朝辞白帝"，恍见江雾化己影。腰间汉剑鸣如裂帛，涛声里四百载诗魂应和。江水滔滔，诗魄悠悠，孰为真幻耶？然《季汉书》稿多"诗剑客传"一卷，墨迹犹润。
烛龙评曰：青莲愁世，诗剑逆时。以醉眼观兴废，以狂墨写沧桑。然季汉得谪仙力，早定中原，岂非天数有变乎？然江流不改，诗魄终随月西沉。盖文章与德行者，千秋之舟楫，能渡魂灵越古今，尔曹所求，不过石火电光耳。
