Ilya felt his heart fall into his stomach, afraid of the next words to come out of his Coach’s mouth.
“We asked the rookies who they’d like to live with and, well, LaPointe wanted to board with you, Chouinard. And Young with you, Bood,” Wiebe then turned to Ilya who had frozen on the spot, “And Roz, Haas wants to live with you.”
Bood and Chouinard chuckled as they watched Ilya’s eyes widen in horror.

Luca Haas was drafted 2nd overall by the Ottawa Centaurs in 2018. Two years later, he anxiously moved halfway across the world to play his rookie season with the team. He requested to live with Ilya Rozanov and they slowly became family.

Shrugging one shoulder far more casually than he possibly feels, Ilya says, “I like both. Is secret, okay?”
“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
Nobody knows why Shane Hollander dropped out of the 2009 draft at the last second, and a year later it stuns the whole hockey world when he's signed by the Boston Raiders. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston - but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.

Emma and Ruby join their hands and begin pulling each other further down the hallway.
A small gurgle sounds from the stroller parked next to them, and Shane looks down to see Arthur with a gummy smile on his face, waving his small arms around and flapping his hands that are hidden by sleeves that are slightly too long.
"Sounds like Arthur's ready to go, too." Shane says with a smile.
"That's because he doesn't know what today has in store." Hayden sighs out.

What started as a normal day full of fun and adventure quickly turned into a nightmare scenario.
Shane Hollander, 26, and Arthur Pike, 6 months, are currently missing. Both were reportedly abducted in plain sight from the Montreal Biodome.

Summary
Shane is finally honest with himself and brave enough to tell Ilya how he feels in Tampa. Then he gets a call from Rose that rewrites everything he thought was possible for him and Ilya.
--“I get that Rose, I really do, but at this point I’m just going to worry about you and all the things it could be and drive myself crazy. Can you just say it, please? I know that’s probably not fair to ask, but I'm asking.”
Rose let out a dry chuckle. “I should have known you would get me to spit it out. You’re alone, right? Sitting down?” her voice sounded almost dead.
“Um, yeah, hold on.” Shane at some point had gotten up and started pacing. He sat back down on the hotel bed. He heard Rose take a deep breath, and he held himself perfectly still.
“Shane, well… fuck, there’s really no way around just saying it, is there? Okay. Fuck."
Shane didn't move. Didn't breathe.
"I’m pregnant.”

Or: AU where Shane gets Rose pregnant in Episode 4 and she keeps the baby. Miscommunication trope ensues. Shane and Ilya have a ticking clock to sort their shit out.
*This is not a poly endgame. Shane and Ilya are still made for only each other in this universe.
