In her flesh was imbued the very powers of the Maiden. They navigate a world of sun and life, of fields and fruit, presiding over the Daughters of Light and carving a legacy of service and duty. All those who bear witness to her strength of spirit find themselves unable to look away. Worshiping the ground she walks upon as those in the Early Days did the Gods.
Beneath the surface all is not as it seems. Beasts linger in the nearby woodlands and strike out at those that venture within. Men are seen to flee and disappear as if in a puff of smoke and hidden away in secluded glades and behind stone walls, dark forces conspire to sunder the very foundations of the Brightlands.
One Maiden must decide what role she will play in the brewing conflict.

A life split in two.
The free spirited girl dancing and playing with her brothers on the island they called home, taken by raiders in the dead of night, the glow of her burning village the last memory she had of the place of her birth. Then came the Masters and their torments. Cruelty came easy to them. Inflicting uncertainty and doubt at every turn. There was nowhere to turn and no one to trust. Humanity seemed at its darkest then. The strongest abandoned their sense of self to survive, molding themselves into model slaves, and ensuring others of their kind obeyed, lest they all suffer.
Until one blistering hot day, a different sun came, and she found herself free; but it was not so simple to free her. No, there was more work to be done, to abandon the chains that kept her and so many others down, for it was not enough to abandon the collar when the chains ran deeper than eyes saw.
Years later, she finds herself at an impasse, unable to go forward but neither go back, and she must make a hasty decision if she means to get what she wants.
