    Summary

Loki had always been very good at deciding what mattered.

It was a survival skill, honed young and sharpened often: choose the important thing, discard the rest, and keep moving. Pain rarely made the cut. Pain was common, expected, easily rationalised. Pain was something you endured quietly, because reacting to it only invited questions, and questions—historically—had never ended well.

So when the blade slid between his ribs, low and to the left, slipping past bone with an unpleasant intimacy, Loki noticed it only long enough to register that it would be inconvenient later.
    ------
After Asgard’s fall, Loki continues doing what he’s always done: enduring quietly, making himself useful, and refusing to slow down. But as injuries accumulate and old problems resurface, the line between survival and self-destruction begins to blur—dragging Thor, Valkyrie, and the rest of what remains of Asgard into the fallout.

    Summary

Loki is dead. Thor has proof. Several times over. This does not stop Loki from showing up anyway.

New Asgard is built, Valkyrie is competent to a terrifying degree, and Thor is expected to be functional. He manages this intermittently, between drinking, spiralling, and holding conversations with someone who very much does not exist.

Things could be worse, he supposes. He is still alive. That seems to be the current goal.

    Summary

    “You did this,” Thor said.

His voice sounded wrong to his own ears — too steady, too quiet — and that frightened him more than if he had shouted.

    Loki flinched anyway.

    Summary

Thanos never attacked the Statesman, and the remaining citizens of Asgard survived.

Thor and Loki did too—unfortunately for them.
Now they’re trapped rebuilding a kingdom while pretending their relationship isn’t in pieces. Thor works himself to exhaustion, Loki avoids every feeling he has, and neither of them knows how to talk about any of it.

    Nothing is wrong.

    (Everything is wrong.)

    Summary

Loki does not drink. He does not talk about the past. He does not have nightmares.

    Until he does.

When one uncharacteristic night forces Thor to confront how little he truly knows about what happened to his brother after the Bifrost, old assumptions begin to crack. Control, choice, and guilt blur together, and Thor is left to wonder how much of Loki’s downfall was ever really his own.

Some truths, it turns out, are harder to live with than lies.

(A reason for me to write a drunk/hungover Loki with problems)

    Summary

Post-Ragnarok survival would be much easier if Thor stopped being earnest, the ship stopped humming, and the void stopped existing altogether.
Unfortunately, Loki is not granted such luxuries.
What follows is far too much talking, not nearly enough space to escape it, and a long overdue conversation between brothers.

    Summary

Odin reveals Loki’s heritage, promptly collapses into the Odinsleep, and leaves him alone with the fallout and no one left to answer for it.

Loki finds himself adrift, unsure what to believe and even less sure of who he is anymore.

It is, if we are being honest, also an elaborate excuse to subject Loki to well-crafted whump.
