    Summary

Then Rozanov turns, his side profile on full display, and Shane can see now that it’s not his phone he’s cradling in his hands but an unlit cigarette and a flickering lighter.

Shane is suddenly unsure of his next move. If he announces himself, he can perhaps get this introduction over with before the stick ever gets lit. And then, of course, there’s always the option of turning around completely, heading back inside like he was never even here. But when else will he get the chance to meet Rozanov alone, privately, without a crowd of hungry journalists eager to hear their first exchange and weigh in on their microexpressions and tones and the unspoken messages in their words?

What he absolutely cannot do is be within three metres of Ilya Rozanov smoking a cigarette because there are some embarrassments you never come back from, and suffering a spontaneous nosebleed while introducing himself to the Russian opponent he’s never met before is unequivocally one of them.

    Or:

Shane Hollander has a strange affliction: cigarette smoke gives him nosebleeds. Needless to say, this makes interacting with Ilya Rozanov more difficult than he'd previously imagined.

    Summary

Shane wondered if this was how most relationships ended. Silently.

It was as if his time with Ilya had never happened at all, like a wave washing away footprints in the sand. The absence of evidence was comforting at times, but more often it left him infuriated. Shane felt as though he was being deceived. Manipulated. No pictures, nothing of Ilya’s to return. He didn’t even have Ilya’s contact in his phone. Not really, at least. Not as Ilya.

Shane wasn’t dumb enough to expect a text, and he certainly wasn’t self-destructive enough to send one himself. But he was foolish enough to wonder if maybe, just maybe, Ilya had reached out in some way.

    OR

Shane doesn't actually get hurt in the game against Boston and Ilya breaks up with him because Ilya's heart had entered into it, and that changed everything.

    Summary

    David Hollander loves Instagram.

Ilya showed it to him one night while he was having dinner with them, specifically posts from the Foundation and the camps, and it somehow led to David setting up his own account. For the most part, it’s dinner and Yuna and sometimes Shane, but there are also pieces of Ilya there: a completed puzzle, chicken parmesan, ice cream. David can’t post Ilya, obviously, but he wants Ilya to look at his account and know that he’s there, too.

When the video comes out, and the boys are thrown into a chaos they don’t deserve, some selfish part of David is relieved because now the entire world can know how much David–how much all the Hollanders–love Ilya Rozanov.

Or: Five posts David Hollander makes about Ilya, and one time Ilya returns the favor.

Please let me in, she thinks. I can be better. I can do it right this time, I promise.

    Summary

“What do you want for dinner?” Minho asks. Jeongin follows him into the kitchen, watching as Minho opens the fridge to analyze what they have. “There’s old kimchi, do you want some jjigae?”

Jeongin instantly pulls a face, “No, no thanks. No fried rice either, please. Or bibimbap. Please.”

He realizes his mistake immediately. Minho sends him a look, slowly closing the fridge to turn to him. “Why not, baby?”

Jeongin shrugs, trying to play cool. “No reason, I’m just not feeling it today,” he says casually and prays that Minho lets it go.

He has no such luck, because Minho never lets things go, which Jeongin should have known considering he’s lived with him for six years now.
