It grows stronger as Steve's and Will's surroundings flicker. Rain or shine, inside their homes or out in the forest, their world grows cold, dark, empty. The feeling, they learn, isn't plain paranoia, but cold, sharp instinct.

Summary
Eddie initially doesn't give two shits about the rumors and conjecture around his and Steve's friendship. They talk in the hallways, sit together in the cafeteria when Eddie decides to venture outside of the table the Hellfire club resides, and they both ignore the stares of the nosy onlookers all the while. It isn't their business, and Eddie has plenty of practice pretending he doesn't have an audience, only acknowledging them when it suits him.
And then Hagan tries to taunt Steve for losing to Billy Hargrove. Tries to declare him King. It suits Eddie just fine when he and Steve address the crowd together.
