Something in this gigantic pink fire trapping her felt unhealthy, insane, unclean.
She couldn’t think of a way to escape.
She couldn’t think at all.
Every fibre of her being was screaming, and her voice kept stuck in her throat. Her body was shivering, though dead still, for it had recognised something – something it hated and feared.
Something it was powerless against.
I’m going to die, she reckoned in a flash of clarity.
Then she heard his voice.
‘A child? It’s been years since I’ve got a child.’

Or: imagine an AU in which Rumi, from her youngest age, has been muttered sentences, not all of them unfriendly, by Gwi-Ma. Can anything bad happen when a centuries old being gets a private access to the mind of the lonely girl who's supposed to be his worst enemy?

Summary
The good thing about having both nightmares and the two best girlfriends in the world is that you can rely on them to hug you and make you feel much better. The only drawback is when you have patterns that will call for them to kill you if they ever found out.
Or: Rumi is having nightmares, which, due to her situation, is not much of a surprise. However, when her nightmares start becoming loud and Mira and Zoey hear how restless are her nights, things turn much more complicated, and both Rumi and her girls feel guilty for not being good enough as lovers.

Sighing to herself, she pulled her sleeves down again. Rumi didn’t care what the job paid. She didn't care about the pictures of the counter that looked impossibly complicated or that the owner, Mira, had a review online that simply stated: ‘The owner stares into your soul until you confess your past sins.’ She desperately needed the job. She needed to escape. This was her chance at a new start. The risk was terrifying, but the small, bright possibility of a completely new start filled her with a nervous kind of giddiness.
Stepping inside The Quiet Hearth was like she’d entered a warm embrace, the air thick with the rich scent of coffee and a hint of cinnamon. Soft, golden light from low-hanging warm bulbs cast a gentle glow over the room, illuminating the deep tones of the exposed wooden beams across the low ceiling. A scattering of small, organised tables and chairs, and plush, well-loved armchairs created intimate nooks, perfect for quiet conversation.
Or, All Rumi wanted was a quiet job. What she got was a chaotic artist, a terrifyingly kind boss, and a café that became her new home.

They hit it off and became great friends. Rumi even gets to meet her girlfriend! Rumi obviously isn't homophobic, but for some reason, she gets a prickly feeling when she sees them together.

Dr. Choi, however, is apparently immune. She puts one hand on her waist and looks up at Rumi with a glare. She holds Rumi's client file up with her other.
