Itachi had started his day off with a simple breakfast and tea set at a local Ryokan. Followed with a leisurely stroll through the neighbouring forest, enjoying what little peace he could find before the inevitable mess of working for Akatsuki came for him. Finding a nice hiding spot deep in the shadows and alleyways in the small town his targets had rested was all too easy – something that should have given him pause. Because Jiraiya was a sannin and nothing escaped his senses. Maybe it had been too good to be true. Maybe it was wrong for him to wish on an easy mission.
And how true that had been, Itachi seethed.
Right now, Uzumaki Naruto had more to worry about than just having the Akatsuki after her bijuu. Now she had Itachi solely gunning for her with a single-minded focus.
Once he was able to face the outside world again in his new…body.

Naruto turns to Kurama with a frown. “Did we actually die, or did we come back in time?”
Kurama stares at him. “How the fuck would I know?”
“I dunno,” Naruto responds, sarcastic enough to cut, “how the fuck do you know anything about nuclear fusion?”
The fox glances away haughtily. “I’m allowed to have hobbies.”
Kushina huffs, glaring at Kakashi. “This is your fault, isn’t it?”
Kakashi rolls his eyes. “It’s funny that you think I’ve ever had any kind of control over the way your son behaves.”

Naruto crashes into the past by accident and fixes things on purpose. Mostly.

Sakura got up and didn’t bother brushing the dirt from her dress. She had a feeling she was about to get even dirtier.
She looked at the memorial stone one last time, memorizing the characters without even realizing she was doing it. It would serve from that moment on as a reminder of her determination. She wouldn’t let Naruto and Sasuke join the names carved on that stone.
That was her nindo.
