    Lorgar smiles. He smiles with his whole face, all sincerity, and it triggers a threat register somewhere in Khârn’s brain. Angron only smiles as a sign of immediate danger. This feels somehow almost worse, because he can’t identify the nature of the threat and he doesn’t know how to avoid it.

    “Good,” Lorgar says. The hand on the nape of Khârn’s neck slides up beneath the cables of the Nails until Lorgar’s fingers are resting on the incisions where they enter his skull. “It is frightening, isn’t it? To be transformed.”

    (Or: Lorgar detains Khârn for an experiment.)
