Loren placed her hand on the time matrix.
Her dagger fingernails suddenly shivered and crumpled. Then they simply blew away, like pollen in the wind. Loren brought her hand to her face in confusion; the nails were as they were before. The shivering spread over her body, hair and skin floating off and turning to dust. She faced me as she was before, no longer eighteen. Even her artificial skin and hooves were good as new.
“Elfangor, you put your hand on too.” I obeyed.
The effects of the time matrix flew free of my body, reminding me of shedding season.
“Well,” Loren smirked, “that's one less thing to worry about. I didn’t think I was ready for college yet.”
The aging effects of the Time Matrix are undone before returning to earth. Elfangor will need to figure out his place on earth and what his life means without the war. Loren is struggling with her feelings for Elfangor and guilt for his stranding on Earth.
