The snow crunches as my worn hiking boots break through the thin crust that has formed over the crystalline powder. My breath rushes out in shimmering clouds that puff and billow in the still, cold air. I drop to my knees as I reach the base of a massive snow drift. The drift is taller than my head and at least ten feet in width. The ice encased snow shimmers in the weak moonlight as my breath melts little patches. I am lost in a White winter world.

Summary

Xie Lian fears for his country. The Kingdom falls into his cousin, Jun Wu's hands, because of ancient laws decreeing people like Xie Lian cannot rule. As the new monarchy is established, Xie Lian finds himself in a whirlpool of distrust and political maneuvering, one that lands him as the royal consort to the Crimson Emperor Hua Cheng. A bloody tyrant in the north, whose story is clouded in rumor. The Prince is willing to do anything for Xianle, and agrees to this alliance.
As he has been told all his life: Omega royalty are only good for one thing.
However, once he is in the Crimson court, he finds it to be not at all what he is expecting. How many false stories has he believed, then? Not only about the Emperor and his country, but about himself?
