Summary
"You're dying." Mike's hands come up to clutch Will's shoulders. "You're literally dying right in front of me and you won't let me help you because you're worried about how I'll feel about it after. But I'm telling you right now, I don't care. I don't care if it's weird or awkward or whatever. I just need you to live. I need you."
Will can feel his resolve crumbling, can feel the way the desperation is eating away at his ability to think clearly. His body is screaming at him, demanding relief, and he's so tired of fighting it.
"It won't mean anything?" His voice is barely audible. "You promise it won't—we can just forget it happened?"
"I promise." Mike's voice is steady, certain. "We’ll stay friends—best friends."

Maybe it's time to stop pretending.

Will chuckled, and was about to say that, "No, Mike, you look fine" but what came out of his mouth instead was, "You look absolutely stunning." which what the fuck, he hadn't meant to say that. -
