Summary

“I’m saying that being able to convince everyone is unfeasible, I have no doubts in your own capabilities,” The other shot back, neither breaking eye-contact as he walked closer to Aventurine until they were face to face.
“Are you willing to bet on that, doc?”
His response seemed to catch Ratio off guard for a moment, his eyebrows raising. However, something that Aventurine hadn’t expected as he watched the other’s expression was how it melted into something bold, sly even. It made his stomach stir with restlessness, and well, something else.
“For example,” Ratio said in a solid tone, all attention placed on the other man as he continued after his weighted pause, “Even if you were given hours, days, weeks, I bet that you wouldn’t be able to please my mother during this holiday season.”
OR
Challenged by the doctor, Aventurine meets Ratio’s family and is absolutely thrown for the culture shock that is the fact that one of the most eccentric geniuses in the universe has a completely normal and wholesome family that is just as odd as he is, albeit in different aspects.

The ice clinks in Aventurine's glass as he swirls the ambler liquid in it for a second before taking a sip. "Tired of the crowds, Doc?"
"I'd rather lobotomize myself than talk to any of those idiots a second longer."
That gets a sharp laugh out of Aventurine. "It is a rather dull event, isn't it?"
Ratio shrugs in response. "Is there such a thing as an IPC event that isn't mind numbingly boring?"
"No. But don't tell Jade I said that. I'd rather not get demoted again."
Or, Ratio is drunk at an IPC event and bored out of his skull, so he and Aventurine sneak back to the hotel to have some fun.
