Secondary Title: Was Anybody Going to Tell Me That Geralt was Courting Me? Or Was I Just Supposed to Find it Out From This Random Herbalist Myself?

This is a story about Geralt trying to court Jaskier, and the poor bard missing it completely. A little bit of moronsexuals and lot of vulnerability and sweetness.

    -----

He thought of Geralt giving him sprigs, leaves, and petals. Sneaking them into his bag while he half napped under the dappled shade of a tree. Presenting them softly, face unreadable, over breakfast on a crisp wintry morning. Pressing them into his palm after a hunt, sludge and blood smearing from Geralt’s hand to his own, the tips of his fingers flecked with their remnants

Jaskier had never asked Geralt why he gave him wayward plant material. It was so rare for Geralt to reach out to him at all. As a result, Jaskier had cultivated a hard, gritty little ball of desperation in his gut. He was like an exceptionally neurotic peach.

    Summary

Lambert is working up the courage to invite Aiden to Kaer Morhen. But at a crucial moment, a mysterious cat witcher takes a contract on the priestess Nenneke's life. Aiden must act quickly to save her, and salvage his relationship with Lambert. But in doing so, he must face his own demons.

This is an 'Aiden and Lambert get together' story, and an 'Aiden comes to Kaer Morhen' story, all in one.

    ------

Lambert wanted to scream. He wanted to punch Geralt. He wanted to fucking turn over the table. He wanted to slit the throat of whoever took that contract. He wanted to...he didn’t know what he wanted. But he thought of Nenneke still and dead on the end of a sword. He thought of Geralt’s anguished face. It was too much. The ache he felt almost doubled him over.

Aiden stood so fast his chair fell over backwards. Geralt flinched, but didn’t move towards him. Lambert knew that he wanted to. He could feel Geralt’s body tight as a bowstring next to him. He wanted to scruff Aiden and interrogate him. The people in the tavern were watching them now. Three witchers arguing was a threat to their peace, as well as the structural integrity of their tavern.

“I have to go,” Aiden whispered.

    Summary

Jaskier finds out about Geralt’s enhanced senses months after meeting him. He is outraged. But it works out just fine in the end.

    -----

“You’ve been reading my mind?!” Jaskier shrieked.

“No,” groaned Geralt, “it’s not like that.” He squeezed his eyes shut and rubbed the bridge of his nose, regretting every choice he had made in his life that led him to that moment.

“How could you?! You never said!!”

Geralt had actually thought that Jaskier already knew about his enhanced senses. The bard’s ballads were so exaggerated, you’d think Geralt was some kind of all powerful mage.

    Summary

Geralt takes care of Jaskier, who has fallen ill with infection from the burns on his hands.

This fic imagines what would have happened if Jaskier had been released from jail on his own in season 2, and continued to work as The Sandpiper, with his burns growing steadily worse. Jaskier does not realize he is on the verge of a serious, deadly condition.

Geralt comes running, worried that he has come too late.

    -----------

Unlike the audience, Geralt could see the truth of the matter. Jaskier’s eyes weren’t sparkling. They were glassy. His skin wasn’t glowing. That was sweat. The heat radiating from his skin wasn’t the heat of excitement. It was the clamminess of illness. Jaskier held a long note, and finally, looked straight at Geralt.

The bard’s eyes widened in shock. A string twanged and broke. Silence fell. There was an awkward, pregnant pause. Then, Jaskier’s eyes rolled slowly back in his head, and he pitched forward.

His body fell hard from the stool, like an unbalanced sack of bricks. His head would have hit the corner of the table as he fell, but by the time he reached it, he was already in Geralt’s arms.

    Summary

Geralt catches Ciri trying to jimmy the locks on the doors to the laboratories in the basement and sends her to her room.

Lambert comes in to talk to her.

    ---------

They thought she was a baby.

“I don’t care. I could do it. I want to do it.”

“Do you want to know a secret, Ciri? One that no one wants to speak inside these walls?”

Ciri fell silent. A secret was a true honor. “What?”

Lambert leaned forward, meeting her eyes intensely, almost defiantly. “The trials aren’t necessary to make a witcher.”
