“If you don’t recall,” Lex drawls, eyes peering down at his manicured fingers and fixing a glare onto a stray Mees’ line on his thumb—the faint, white streak marring his otherwise flawless nail, “I don’t tolerate late dates.”
He glances out the tinted window, spotting a dot of red and blue in the sky. It hovers around an enormous creature that had managed to stumble its way through an interdimensional portal, and is now unintentionally wreaking havoc on Metropolis’ finest skyscrapers.
“And considering you have one in approximately,” he pauses to take a look at his custom, million-dollar watch, “four minutes and thirty-nine seconds, I sincerely suggest you take care of that useless hunk of a beast as soon as possible unless you want to be locked out of all Luthorian premises for a week.”
Or: 3 times Clark won against Lex, and one time Lex did.

Summary
Lex is standing in front of the crib, with Clark at his side, shoulder to shoulder, looking at Conner as if they're looking at a newly completed masterpiece. It is, in a way. It's his masterpiece, and it's finished. It wasn't nine months, it was five, but it still felt eternal. And now he's here. With them. Breathing. Alive.
"He's perfect..." Clark whispers, as if afraid to wake him.
Lex crosses his arms, looking down at the baby with the purest pride and, at the same time, an air of superiority. "Yeah." He says, satisfied. Proud. "I did that."
Clark glances at him, chuckling. "We did that, Lex."
Lex looks at him for a moment, considering, and then, with a slight nod, concedes, "Fine." A pause. "I'll give you... 12% of the credit."
Or: A new punk rocker has arrived in the world.

"Superman," Lex says. His hands move nimbly as he treats his wound. "I almost killed him today. It's always an almost. It's stupid. Why doesn't he just die?"
He swallows and opens his eyes to look at him. "And that would make you happy?"
Lex looks at him. Slowly, directly. "I don't know," he admits, then makes a brief, small face, as if he's considering the bad instead of the good, as if he's already doing the math in his head—he probably already is. "But I'd sleep peacefully."
"And... would you sleep peacefully if someone you loved died believing you hated them?"
Lex doesn't stop his movements, but watches him with a calm gaze. "What's that about?"
Clark shakes his head. "Nothing. Forget it."
