Summary
The cathedral looms before her, illuminated by warm, incandescent light, front door propped open in welcome. Bianca watches from her hidden spot between low bushes – watches the crowd trail in, parents corralling small children, the elderly shuffling up frosted stairs, canes clacking against stone. In her mind’s eye, there’s a vision of another cathedral, superimposed upon the scene, where the strangers’ faces are replaced with ones familiar, where the children giggling and chasing eachother around a mother’s coat are the same children she might see in a mirror. Christmas often followed a similar routine – Mamma getting ready at the vanity, pinning back her hair, while Bianca tried to imitate her from the bed. Nico, too, would attempt to copy, but his hair was much too short, and he lost interest quickly – so would Bianca, honestly, but Mamma would always sit her in front of the desk and mirrors and style her hair for her. They’d wear their nice shoes, and Bianca wore her newest dress, and light blue one, from Nonno, with its embroidered white flowers and its matching bow for her hair.

Summary
Will Solace had long come to terms with the fact that he was the oldest child of Apollo. That he was in charge now and it was his responsibility to take care of his younger siblings... like Lee and Michael had cared for him.
Will's siblings were grateful for him stepping up. He's an amazing big brother. They just wish that he also had someone to rely on too.
Nico is worried about his boyfriend. Will had to comfort his little siblings, he had to be the grown up and cabin counsellor from age 13. Nico wasn't sure Will had ever truly processed his own losses and guilt after the Second Titan War.
Apollo watched so many of his children die. Brutal, awful deaths. And he couldn't do anything to save them. He still wasn't supposed to interfere... Apollo has lost too much to really care about stupid ancient laws. His only child who survived the Battle of Manhattan. Kayla and Austin had been too young to fight... realistically Will should have been too young as well. But they'd needed medics.
Chaos could hear Apollo's desperate prayers for something to help his little sunshine. They couldn't ignore their families hurt any more
