Why I didn’t bookmark this when I first read it it will never know, but it was comforting and familiar and the line Lup tells at her return has been burned into my brain for years and this is where it’s from. “You don’t need to call her,” Rozanov says, and when Hayden glances at him, he still looks fucking miserable but now he’s rolling his eyes, a much more familiar expression of disdain on his face. “She’s sitting right here.”

Zoro likes taking the night watch. The new cook is a bad sleeper and seems set on disturbing Zoro's solitude. Zoro is annoyed, until he isn't, and each successive visit from the cook starts to change things between them.
