He was gleefully and deliberately working his way through several orders of dango, as always, but...

    That simple fascination was no longer so simple. It wasn't just his eyes she was looking at anymore.

    It was the way his mouth slowly opened and closed for each bite, teeth delicately tearing at the food. The way his throat looked as he swallowed every savored morsel. The way he brushed the crumbs off his lips with his thumb, caressing-

    -the point was, her thoughts were no longer innocent.

    Her words were followed by an agonizing beat of silence, the only noise the slight crackle of the cooking pit's fire. Ikaruga opened and closed his mouth a few times, eventually managing to croak out, “You- what?”

    She laid her face in her hands so he couldn't see her flushed, horrified face, “I told you it was strange. I'm sorry for even asking. You can just forget about it.”
