It’s been two months since he burnt his mother’s body and then buried her bones on a random beach in California, but every night he felt like it had only been hours. Nightmares were mixing with his grief and kept him up at night.

Neil stilled, scarcely breathing. It sounded like an elevator, or maybe like an alert in a hospital. Like a notification chime. Neil kept his body tensed, ready for whatever made that noise.
‘Error initialising.’
He’s gone insane. The little sleep he’s managed and his grief have converged and melted his brain, because there’s no other explanation for Neil to be seeing words in front of his face right now. “What the fuck?” Neil breathed quietly.
Two months - two months and he’s gone insane without his mother’s harsh guidance. -

Summary
According to the team, Andrew is currently losing a custody battle for Neil against a sport invented by the mafia.
It’s a running joke in the locker room: Neil cares about Exy, and then, distant second, he cares about breathing. Andrew is somewhere on the list, probably below the new backliner spread Kevin found.
Andrew doesn't bother correcting them. He knows the difference between a distraction and a destination. He knows Neil runs until his lungs burn to keep the ghosts quiet, but he also knows exactly whose bed Neil crawls into when the adrenaline fades.
(Or: 5 times the team thought Neil loved the sport more than the goalkeeper, and one time Neil made the hierarchy terrifyingly clear.)

Summary
What if the threat of Aaron being charged with murder was more significant and Neil found out that he could prevent Andrew from having to be at the trial if he were to testify. What would he be willing to sacrifice to achieve that?
What if instead of refusing to testify for Aaron, Neil decides to make a deal with the FBI to become their witness against his father if they’ll backstop his current identity? What if he could take Riko down with him? He thinks it means signing his death warrant and losing the Foxes. Betsy, Aaron and the Foxes are determined to convince him it doesn’t have to be all or nothing, but his father’s people are coming for him, he’s poked the Moriyama hornets’ nest on Kevin’s behalf and that’s not even starting on what Andrew will have to say about Neil choosing to martyr himself.
Ft. Unlikely bonding between Aaron and Neil. Nicky and Aaron realise Andrew does care and is a protective asshole they should care about, therapy Neil needs but wouldn’t ever seem out and shake-ups to canon focus on healing and redemption for Andrew.
