Jason crouched down beside the guy, keeping his movements deliberate. "Look, medbay's incoming. But between you and me?" He tilted his head toward the sound of screeching Batmobile tires rounding the corner. "You might wanna think about dialing back the cosmic horror talk when the World's Greatest Detective shows up, unless you want to get instantly adopted."

The man's crooked nose scrunched up. "Adopted?" he scoffed. "I'm 27."

Jason barked a laugh, genuine this time. "Yeah? Bruce doesn't discriminate."

    Summary

Hundreds of years ago, Julian's eyes snap open, their cornflower blue interrupted by a long black pupil, shaken awake by a blood-covered boy with two similar figures trailing behind him that would soon become his brothers.

Now, Jaskier's eyes, pupils round like a human's, open to watch the life he'd built for himself, bloody piece by bloody piece, crumble before him.

    Summary

He had waited on that mountain for three days, hoping against hope that the Witcher would return, that he would apologize, that he would sweep in and save Jaskier like some kind of hero from a ballad. And that was the worst part of it all. Jaskier had wanted to be saved. He had wanted Geralt to protect him, even after the man had made it painfully clear that Jaskier was nothing but a burden.

“Stupid,” Jaskier whispered, his voice barely audible over the faint drip of water echoing in the cave. “Stupid, foolish, pathetic Jaskier. When will you learn?”
    ------------------------------------------------------------
His first thought, fragmented and fleeting, was that he had made a mistake. Touching the medallion had been a mistake. This was a mistake. But the thought was swallowed almost immediately by the pain, a tidal wave of agony that left no room for reason, no room for anything but survival.

Then, as quickly as it had begun, the flames vanished. But the pain did not.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
Yet, as his hands trailed over his arms, his chest, his face, he found nothing. His skin was smooth, unblemished, as if the blood wasn’t his at all.

    Summary

Obito stood over him, silent, his lone red eye burning with an intensity that Kakashi couldn’t quite read. The ground beneath Obito’s feet was cracked from the force of the battle they had just fought, but the world around them remained eerily still. Kakashi could barely lift his head, but he could see enough to know this was it.

    (It should have been)

Kakashi tried to lift his head, the question on his lips barely audible. “Obito—”

But Obito’s eye had already started glowing, the familiar, spiraling pattern of his power activating. The air around them rippled, space warping and twisting. Kakashi could feel the pull of the technique, but it felt different this time, deeper, more forceful. His heart pounded in his chest.

    (Obito should have killed him)

The world around him tore open, the swirling void enveloping him completely. He was falling—through time, through space—ripped away from the battlefield, away from the destruction about to unfold.

    (He didn't)

Alternately: Kakashi ends up stuck in the Witcher world and misunderstandings are created.
