Summary
The harem has settled into their roles as Cross’s harem, having healed greatly, and their relationships are thriving with their prince.
Dust, in particular, is eager to be first to fulfill the most important duty of their roles.
An heir must be made, and Dust is determined to have a baby with Cross, but there’s a problem.
The firstborn is in line for the throne and must be the best of Cross’s offspring, and the court thinks Dust is the weakest of the choices.

Cross dropped his face into his hands, burying the vivid flare of his skull behind trembling phalanges. “...And now it’s embarrassing,” he mumbled, his voice cracking beneath the weight of self-consciousness. “I’m so old and I have no experience—”
His hands slid further down, dragging along his face in theatrical misery before flopping back against the loveseat. “And then—” he sighed again, “I don’t want to kiss someone because they’ll be disappointed.”
It felt too honest. Too raw. The kind of thing you say and immediately regret.
He slumped deeper into the couch, like the cushions might swallow him whole if he just curled in enough. “Seriously,” he muttered, almost to himself, “who wants to kiss a thirty-year-old rookie?”

“I…” Dream’s voice cracked, raw and uneven, as he tried to form words that refused to come. “I don’t understand.”
Nightmare’s response was a low, velvety croon; slow and deliberate. “You wanted your brother back, didn’t you?” The satisfaction in his tone was unmistakable, a rich, indulgent amusement curling around each syllable. He was enjoying this—savoring it—the way Dream’s composure cracked, his visible surprise. Nightmare found himself hilarious, and he made no effort to hide it. “So I brought him for you. I even wrapped him up for you.”
Nightmare’s hand rose, unhurried, to cradle the cheek of his younger self. The gesture was almost tender, but the reaction it elicited was anything but. The boy flinched at the touch, his entire form shuddering violently. His bones rattled, each sound a sharp note within the stillness of the room. Silk bound his mouth, tied tightly enough to gag him, the fabric pressing into the grooves of his jaw.
It was clear he didn’t know what was happening.
Nightmare offers Dream a gift.

“H..ello?” The chef, or that’s what Dust assumes anyway, looks rather confused but not put off by Dust’s haggard appearance. Dust didn’t put much thought in his choice of outfit in his hurry to get it over with, he has a pair of shorts and one of his nicer looking hoodies on but, holy fuck, he’s beginning to fucking regret it.
Nobody told him that his upstairs neighbour is attractive. He’s big; looms over Dust’s puny frame easily (and very nicely in Dust’s humble opinion). Dust has to crane his neck to properly stare at the dude and that’s a feat. The size of his dick must be the size of Dust's thighs.
There’s something fluttering in his lower ribs and Dust is almost ashamed to acknowledge that it is, in fact, not hunger this time around.
