"It's fine," Donny replied moving around Leo without making eye contact. He needed time for the feelings bubbling inside him to settle. He shouldn't have risked leaving his lab just yet. Keeping his head down he tried to casually move away from Leo and back to the safety of his lab. Leo had already felt something off between them, before Don had even realised it. He hadn't even noticed the way he was acting towards Leo. Obviously doing it subconsciously. But now he did. And now his emotions felt very raw and new again.

From where he is standing just outside the doors to the main hall, Geralt can make out Jaskier’s profile against the large fireplace. Opposite of him sits Eskel, a hand resting over Jaskier’s wrist. They are both looking down at the table, down at their large mugs of drink, and Geralt can feel his heart sink.
“He wouldn’t have asked you to come if he didn’t care,” Eskel tries, and Jaskier gives a sad smile.
“Ah, see,that’s the kicker, though, isn’t it? He didn’t. He told me to bring his child here, but he never asked me specifically to come, and he never asked me to stay.”Or; Season 2 fix it, eskel lives and brings infinite wisdom, and geralt has to learn how to be a friend. A love story
