Summary
With Price stuck abroad and the deadline in less than 30 days- Ghost takes up Gaz’s offer to link him up with his friend who he says can tour him around the bumfuck of Scotland for his animal photography project.
He arrives with grim expectations that sizzle under the megaton of charisma and charming smiles, yet there’s something off about the Scot. He’s sure of it.
It goes well until it doesnt. After all living on a small boat together for 20 days forces you to become more tuned to the other person than perhaps Ghost would like - or not enough so.

Ghost freezes.
He knows that voice.
Squatting, he quickly grips the man’s helmet and gets it off for him.
A bloodied, bruised but achingly familiar face greets him underneath and cusses him out.
“Could’ve warned a man at least yeah?”
“Johnny?”

Riding back home while on forced leave, Ghost becomes an involuntary participant of a chase.
Turns out that the biker that crashed is strikingly familiar.
Ghost and Soap are forced to work together even on leave to find out who tried to kill Soap, and perhaps Ghost enjoys that his days don't feel as dull as they did before.

Summary
Sent on a mission in the highlands of Scotland, Ghost and Soap have to find refuge in an older castle as the weather rages against them. The stone walls save them from the rain, but leave them on edge and trigger happy. Perhaps the storm outside would be more welcoming.

“Take it.”
There’s an object in the things hand now, a pulsing, bleeding mass and a matching crimson wound spreading on the things t-shirt.
Ghost stays still, watching it hold out its heart to him.
It seems to grow impatient at Ghost’s inaction and takes a rapid step forward, pushing the heart at him.
“Take it!!!” It lunges at him and Ghost puts two bullets in its chest on instinct.
The thing falls to the floor and in a flash of light from the outside it looks so much like Johnny that Ghost’s heart plummets to his feet.
“NO- , Fuck Johnny- I” Dropping to his knees he rushes to press his hands to the wound but there’s too much blood, Soap is bleeding out too quickly. -

Summary
The magnitude of things wrong with him seemed to rise tenfold at that moment, or at least Ghost considered that another small piece of sanity left him, because when Johnny turned, pearled whites stained with red, mohawk disheveled with the rain, eyes looking right at Ghost, and then he smiled, Ghost felt something in him snap.
A whole bombing with AGM-65’s could have happened behind Ghost at that moment and he wouldn’t have been able to take his eyes off Johnny.

Thranduil’s pride would not allow him to be of less use to his human allies than the mountain’s mercurial inhabitants. He would stay a while longer, just long enough to help them ensure there was adequate housing for the survivors of the Battle of the Five Armies, enough food to see them through the cold months, wood for fires, and medicine for the sick. The barest of essentials, that wasn’t too much for Dale’s new king to ask of him, and Thranduil felt the pain of loss in his heart ease when he considered it.
