Summary
"We found the last group but there’s twenty-seven of them. You and I both know we don’t have enough safe houses open to protect all of them, so I was wondering if you would, you know, with all the free time you have… be able to…”
The sentence and suggestion hung in the air, but Max was quick to shut it down. “No. I’m retired, Seb. The second a bullet went through my leg, I stopped being a detective,” Max asserted.
“Max, I really need help here. I’ve got an Omega recovering from a suppressant overdose in the hospital right now that has no family or friends in the country besides another Omega who was able to be taken in—as far as we know. He has to go somewhere and you’re one of the only Alphas I trust around here,” Sebastian begged softly.
His heart squeezed in his chest when he also thought about the fact that the man would be terrified when he woke up with no one he knew there. Max let out a defeated puff of air and dragged a hand down his face while closing his eyes.
“Alright,” he finally agreed.

Summary
"Do you know him?" Sebastian asked.
"No, I've never met him before. It's just...seeing him and his pup, it's heartbreaking. He must have been so scared and alone. I can't even imagine," Max admitted. "He looks around my age, Seb. He shouldn't have had to go through that."
Sebastian nodded in agreement. "You're right, no one should ever have to go through what this boy has gone through but that's why we do this. We can't change the past, but we can help make the future better. And that's what we will do."
Max nodded, his eyes still fixed on the clinic.
"Go home, Max. Take a break. You have done enough for now. Let me handle it," Sebastian assured him.
Max reluctantly nodded. "Okay, call me if anything happens,"
"Of course. Rest well,"
Max drove home, his thoughts swirling. He wasn't sure why, but he felt connected to the Omega. Maybe it was the fact that they were the same age, or maybe it was his concern for the baby, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to help him.

Summary
The first page greets him with a polaroid: Stiles, disheveled and grinning tiredly, perched on his suitcase in the living room. Beside it in marker block letters:
BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY. DO NOT SKIP AHEAD.
Derek scowls at the page, tempted to flip straight to the back. But in the corner in tiny letters:
Yes, you can turn the page today.
With a huff, he does.
The next page has the present date and a short message:Here we are on the first day of me gone. I am on my way to get properly educated and you are on your way to find a treasure chest. Wipe that frown off your face, Sourwolf.
We are both beginning an adventure, so put on something comfortable and pack a change of underwear. There’s an actual treasure map taped to the page.

What if Stiles leaves for college and Derek decides to stay in Beacon Hills. What if Stiles leaves Derek with a journal entry for every day. An instruction manual. What if Derek follows it and rebuilds his life, page by page.

Summary
There’s a kid trying to steal my wallet, Dylan thinks, bemused. He guesses he makes a fair target. The streets aren’t as crowded as they usually are today, most of the holiday crowds hanging around Midtown to see the usual sights. It’s not like there’s an absence of people, but he sees why they’ve gone for him. His gait isn’t as even as it usually is, his breathing a little more ragged than he’d like, his incision aching from the cold weather and the exertion. They probably assumed that he wouldn’t be able to chase after them when he found out it was missing. Given by the way that tiny hand has frozen in his pocket, they didn’t quite get the timing right.
...
Dylan Rhodes encounters a group of kids--smart kids, brilliant kids, magical kids that are way, way too goddamn young to be as alone as they are--on his walk back from the Manhattan FBI office. And he finds them again, and again, and again.
Eventually, they all come home.
