After watching the Angel of the Eastern Gate, Crawley notices how stressed he has become since giving away his flaming sword and offers to help him relax. Aziraphale accepts.

Crawley pushed and pulled into the soft flesh, moving all along Aziraphale’s shoulders and back and the start of his wings. The molten heat Crawley felt being near the angel was at a boiling point, and every gasp and moan that escaped Aziraphale’s lips made it almost excruciating. It throbbed through him, pooling under his belly and spreading to the top of his thighs. His body begged him to push deeper into Aziraphale’s flesh yet nothing was enough. His mind felt dizzy.

If you ever find yourself in Soho, and in the mood for a good book, look for A.Z. Fell and Co. The hours are irregular, but if you manage to get in, head to the kid's section. There, among the ivy, lilies, parlor palms and of course, snake plants, you'll find the largest, glossiest, blackest snake you've ever seen. If you read to it, you'd better show it the pictures, and heaven help you if you rub it's scales the wrong way. The proprietor can be just as grumpy if you make a mess or look too intently. But if he deems you worthy, wonderful things will happen. And make sure you bring a treat for the snake. He likes eggs.

What should have been a simple night at an auction house - pick up anything too dangerous to be left lying around, watch a bunch of humans argue over fake occult items and then return to the bookstore with Aziraphale for copious amounts of alcohol - goes terribly wrong when Crowley discovers the auction house owner, Mallory, is hiding something far more dangerous in his vault than he was letting on.
An Ethereal something to be exact.
Which leaves Crowley to wonder - how exactly did he not realise Aziraphale was missing?

In many ways, Crowley had always tempered that fury in Aziraphale in their time together on Earth. Without that influence, what is left to stop him?

On a snowy evening in 1860 London, Aziraphale spies what he thinks is a black ribbon outside his shop. But when he picks it up, he realizes that it is Crowley, near frozen to death. He takes the small creature inside to warm him and protect him from the townspeople, who are on the hunt for a card-cheating demon.
