Summary
Uther is dead, Merlin feels guilty and Arthur is a bit terrified. Arthur is about to be crowned King, which implies changes, and both Arthur and Merlin fear them. But changes are not always bad, are they? And some things don't need to change. Arthur and Merlin just need to remind that to each other.

What crossed Merlin and Arthur's minds during the 'You are a loyal friend' scene? What happened after Arthur suggested having breakfast together at the end of The Wicked Day? How did Merlin and Arthur live Arthur's coronation? And how come Merlin kept being Arthur's manservant after he was crowned King, if kings don't usually have a single manservant?

“So let me get this straight,” Arthur said, folding his fingers together as the man in front him awkwardly shifted. “You are under the impression if you win the favor of my servant that you will then win my favor?” he asked and the nobleman shifted again.
“Well, sire,” he said “That is the common consensus among… the chatter.”
“The chatter,” Arthur repeated and his mind flashed to all the kindness Merlin had received from other nobles. Dear God.

Merlin has all of Camelot (and neighboring kingdoms) wrapped around his finger and Arthur is beginning to resign himself to the fact his servant somehow has more power than he does.
