Summary
Ever since Bradley had turned 14, Tom had (however unintentionally) been pulling away from his son. He had been so consumed with understanding the energems in hopes of bringing Maverick back that he had been lost to his work. Before he knew it, Tom hadn’t had a proper conversation with Bradley in years, and he was leaving the nest. Though Bradley never fully cut contact, calls between the two men were few and far between. Tom didn’t even know that Rooster had been looking into Mav’s disappearance until he showed up on the base’s doorstep bonded to the red energem.
Too much time had passed, filled with strained communication for an easy reunion. Pile on the stress of constant training and missions, and Tom hadn’t been able to have a moment alone with Bradley in over a week.

Bradley Bradshaw hated Jake Seresin. Hated his cocky attitude. Hated his risky moves in the field. Hated how he never took direction. Hated the way he kept trying to steal his team out from under him. But above all else Bradley hated Jake because he was bound to the white energem. And that one fact, meant that under all that snarky bravado, Hangman was a truly good person. And that, pissed Bradley off more than anything else.

Summary
Bradley wanted to make it clear for the record that he knew this was a dumb idea before he started doing it. Normally, when Bradley had a dumb idea, Phoenix would smack him upside the head and then drag him off to do something marginally less stupid, like shots or a bet against her in darts. But tonight, Phoenix wanted some "self-care free of testosterone” and “didn't want to hear from you, Rooster, unless it's life or death”. So, Bradley was left to break into the old Darkstar lab by himself.
No knowledge of Power Rangers is necessary.
