Today had been a special day for Tommy. It was his 18th birthday. It was the day he got his hybrid half revealed. It was the day Tommy got his wings. He knew what they would be, of course. Sunshine golden just like his hair. He was excited. No, he was ecstatic.
At least, he was supposed to be.

Or, after failing to receive his wings like the rest of his family, Tommy is cast aside.
And it just so happens he runs into a martial arts center that accepts humans.

Summary
As he talks, the human gradually freezes up. What’s that phrase? ‘The mortifying ordeal of being known’? Kris is pretty sure it’s brand new to them. An unfamiliar mix of relief and absolute terror at being so exposed churns in their stomach. They can feel their lip trembling as they meet Spamton’s expectant, evidently all-seeing gaze. They could be overheard at any moment. “I—I think They’re gone. Right now.”
Behind those bicolored lenses, black pupils travel down to their armor, studying something. “REALLY!?!? LUCKY DUCK!! I SURE WISH I GOT [Union-Regulated Breaks] FROM MY [Eternal Subjugation and Unwilling Servitude].”
Panicking, Kris looks down, too. But they don’t see anything out of the ordinary. “What are you looking at?”
Spamton points. “YOUR [HeartShapedObject]. 1T’S NOT [All Yours] ANYMORE, IS IT? WHO’S THE [Freeloader]???”

What if Kris and Spamton kept talking when the Player was gone, or when they stepped away from their keyboard? What if there were things they didn't see? What if Kris and Spamton were co-conspirators the whole time?

“It varies from moment to moment,” Loki answered honestly, prying his eyes open after they threatened to fall close.
“But on a scale of one to ten, where are you at right now?”
“Maybe a three?”
The Spider-child nodded. “Cool,” he replied. “Let me know if it gets above a six.
Or: Five times Peter Parker was there for Loki when it 'got above a six', and one time he wasn’t.

Instead, he uses his escape to confirm his supposed death, moving to urban India to start a new life as a mechanic with a secret past time of blowing up every piece of Stark weaponry Stane Industries can throw at him. Audis, cats, SHIELD, Bruce, a fair amount of explosions, snark from all sides, ghosts, art, and palladium poisoning with a side of terrorism and a certain defrosted Cappucino.

Man this was great
I didn’t know what to expect from this but I was wonderfully surprised- the pacing was amazing, the imagery, the dialogue, the characters- SARVANKAR
I love this kind of trope and tony as acervi and learning all the cultures was so fun, everything was so immersive and very well written. I cannot find like anything I don’t like with this fic
