“You're not alone, Echo.”
The ARC trooper turned sharply to see Omega standing in the doorway. The girl held Lula tightly and the blanket, which was also trailing behind her on the floor. Her hair is completely disheveled, and that sleepy look hasn't faded from her face yet.
“You should go back to bed, Omega,” Echo said softly, then stood up and walked over to her. “Where are your shoes, or at least your socks?” He asked when he noticed her bare feet. She shifted from one to the other feeling chill. He stretched his arms out to her and took her in his arms to keep her from freezing. She rested head against his body, watching him closely as he returned to his seat.
“You cried,” she said more than asked.
“I'm fine.”

Echo feels the love of his little sister and that allows him to move on with his life. He has someone to live for, even though he knows that part of his family will never return again...
