”Am I really a sight more worth seeing than the stars? You can see me every day, but you won’t see those as often,” Baiheng said, gesturing to the starry expanse.
Jingliu frowned in response. No, she was wrong. Their line of work meant there existed a final day, one that inevitably lurked on the horizon—the question was whether it would come prematurely. The end could rear its ugly head at any time. The stars would shine forever; she’d have an eternity to stargaze once everything was said and done. Baiheng would not.
”You are worth much more than the stars,” she affirmed, echoing the arrogant promise she had once made. “I’ll always have the stars, but…” She trailed off, voice trembling just a bit. This was really unlike her. But she could not possibly finish that sentence.

Baiheng has something up her sleeve when she goes to find Jingliu on an otherwise uneventful day for the members of the High Cloud Quintet. Amidst a dinner among the stars and buried feelings long left unspoken—with the heavens as their sole witness, Jingliu relearns what it means to be human.

“For someone so obsessed with action movies and video games, you would make a terrible spy,” Ningguang announces as she makes her way to the bedroom.
All she hears in response is a groan coming from the blanket burrito sprawled on her bed. Keqing looks just as ridiculous as she does adorable, lavender hair and feet sticking out from either side of the fluffy blanket—she has done a poor, hasty job of hiding herself and pretending that she has been resting in bed most of the day. That poor girl… much too honest to lie properly to Ningguang. Adorable, sweet little Keqing, incapable of lying, and of lying down when she is sick.
