Summary
When Soap is abducted by Konni during the mission in Siberia and replaced by someone who looks and speaks just like him, he's left without hope of rescue, at the mercy of Makarov's sick plans. After all, the 141 doesn't know it wasn't Soap with them in the Chunnel that fateful day.
Years later, a showdown between Ghost and Makarov's pet—a seemingly inhuman soldier and perpetual thorn in the 141's side—reopens old wounds, and despite the bloody mess, the results might just give them all a chance to heal.

Summary
John MacTavish hasn't seen Simon Riley since the day Simon rushed him to a London trauma center... and then walked away. The absence made John's road to recovery all the more agonizing, but luckily, the rest of the 141 along with other friends and family filled the hole left by a ghost.
Now, three and a half years later, John finally has his life together. He works for the MOD (and the CIA... ahem) as a civilian demolitions consultant. He's got a house, a (mostly) clear head, and most importantly, a date with someone new to his best mate's wedding.
John's ecstatic to be standing up as Kyle's best man. Unfortunately, it also means standing in the same room as a certain Lieutenant. It's okay, though. For Kyle's sake, John can keep all the anger and hurt festering inside of him in check. All he has to do is avoid Simon for the next few hours, and they'll go their separate ways.
Too bad Simon has other plans that, unbeknownst to either of them, will change their lives forever.
For better or for worse.

He takes the stem from John’s fingers, unable to hide that upturn of his lips as he dips his head in a small nod. And John beams at him, elated and bright now that rejection doesn’t seem so plausible.
John throws his cap on, adjusting it carefully as he stands taller than he did only moments ago. “Goodnight, Mr. Riley”
Simon feels himself stand a little taller too. “Goodnight, MacTavish.”
...
After the Great War Simon expected to leave human pleasures in the trenches with the men of his past but at a party, mind settled with high end alcohol, vibrant blue eyes framed upon freckled cheeks and delicate lavender petals leave him breathless with want.
John was a simple man with simple dreams, fated with risky flings he wonders if maybe he’s truly destined to a life of solitude. Yet the lingering stare of warm brown eyes has his heart racing and his mind making foolish decisions.
Parting ways that night with the sad reality they likely may never meet again life continues as it always does, but the gentle ring of the bell above the tailors doorway signals a true change - one steeped in lavender hues.
