His lover had come to Wriothesley a few days before, asking if he would like to accompany him to Dragonspine for a few days on his rare leave from work. When Wriothesley had asked him why he would choose such a place for his impromptu vacation, the Iudex had explained with excitement that adventurers from the guild had discovered a new cave system with an underground river, its water glistening like jewels because of the peculiar minerals making up the bed of the river. So of course, Neuvillette, connoisseur of all things water, wanted to see it for himself.
Wriothesley just hoped he didn’t intend to taste it.
