Summary
Jazz has been trying to find an honest job for months but is finally desperate enough to accept a not-so-honest one from a mech one of his former cellmates had not-quite-but-still-kinda recommended. It’s a very straightforward job with all the odds stacked in his favour, so what could possibly go wrong?
Well, as it turns out, the answer to that question is “a lot”. Good thing Jazz is a whole lot more creative under pressure than he’s ever given himself credit for.

Summary
Jazz had thought being sentenced to prison for a crime he didn't commit was going to be the worst moment in his life.
He had not been prepared for the utter depravity that reigns in a place where the life of a mech is worth less than nothing, where the strong take what they want with few repercussions, and where those in power are almost as bad as the monsters they are supposed to keep leashed.
Fortunately, there is at least one mech in this living Pit who still cares for his fellow mechs, no matter the circumstances.

Summary
15 vorns ago, while stuck in prison, Jazz suffered a vicious assault that ended up completely destroying his optics. Now that he’s finally free again he’s hoping to collect on an old promise to get them fixed.
(In An Exercise in Reevaluations it’s mentioned in passing that Jazz was once sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. This fic is part of that backstory, and thus takes place long before he met Prowl or Mirage, or became an accomplished thief.)

Summary
A G1/IDW-ish AU where Jazz and Prowl are both expert thieves who work for Mirage to steal from the wealthy and unscrupulous. An Exercise in Reevaluations is the main fic, and I'll add more stories as inspiration strikes. Everything is posted in suggested reading order, but most of the fics should work resonably well as short standalone stories as well.
Please mind the tags of the individual fics, as some of them delve into dark parts of both Jazz's and Prowl's past.
