You might have read this Ellabs trope before but this time Tess is alive and Ellie is a femme in this au. Why? Cause fuck you that's why, I am actually done with all you acting like making femme Ellie is making her straight and is giving into gender stereotypes. No it's not, you realise how bad it makes teen girls like me feel when we do something according to "gender stereotypes"? How much it makes me question my sexuality over the fact I like to be girly sometimes?
Ellie isn't gonna start liking dudes just because she is feminine. And you don't have to wear a dress to be feminine, it is more about the vibe you carry yourself with. There's a reason cis men in movie look who wear dresses as "disguise" still look and feel masculine.
Everyone says "be however you want" until you do something they don't like.

I am sorry guys, this story is on pause, I wrote the 1st chapter during my 10th board exam, like in the holidays before my maths exam and after that I changed fandoms, marvel to Percy Jackson to The Last of Us and I still haven’t got the motivation to complete the 2nd chapter.Things have went shit to great to shit and than great again in my life after I got in 11 science, I outed as queer to my friends, they accepted me, my previous crush is kind of homophobic but we are cool now, I had so many meltdowns, I realised I am in kind of love with my best friend, the new kid keeps trying to be “friends” with me but I have no interest as I am not into boys and study are so shitty. My parents are making me want to kill myself.
Just your basic teenage drama.BUT DONT YOU GUYS WORRY! I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I COMPLETE THIS FANFIC NO MATTER WHAT. STORY OF HIRNAVALI PRABHAKAR WILL RETURN!

Summary

Summary
Feeling guilty about leaving Joel to play single parent yet again, she rises and follows, finding Joel on Ellie’s bed with her all but on his lap, face tucked against his neck. His chin is resting against her head, and as she watches from the place in the doorway, he tucks his chin enough to kiss her hair.
“Easy, baby girl,” he says, a low, soothing croon. “You’re okay, baby. I’ve gotcha.”
Ellie’s response is too low for her to hear, and based on the way Joel’s expression doesn’t change, she’s not sure it’s clear enough to actually be intelligible.
“Shh,” he hushes. “I’m here, baby girl. I’m here.”
After a few more minutes of watching Joel handle parenting with ease like he didn’t have a twenty year hiatus between children, Tess decides to lay back down.
It seems like he’s got it under control, after all.
(after settling back in jackson, tess learns that after always doing it as a single parent, joel is AWFUL at sharing when it comes to raising a kid)
