To Robin this means nothing. Some guy who went to the same high school as them is here and he just sang and it wasn't ear-splitting but it was just kinda alright. He looks alright. He sang alright. No offense to him, but to Robin, Eddie Munson is just alright.

A drabble of a fic in which Robin thinks Eddie Munson's band is just kinda decent while Steve thinks they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. Perhaps being gay for the lead singer just makes you loopy when it comes to judging how good a band actually is.

"Hiya, Big Boy." Eddie is trying so hard to play it cool but Gareth can see the arm holding his head up shaking. "Are you on the menu, cause I'd love an order of beefcake to go." Gareth chokes so hard he has to pound his own chest to get his breath back.
Steve is still gaping at them. "Eddie." The pause seems to go on forever before he laughs and the tension in Eddie's shoulders visibly melts. "What the fuck, man?"
"Thought I'd come see you, sweetheart. Keep you company while Buckley's gone."
"Ed, it's the middle of the night."
"I know, Steve. This is, uh," Eddie sits up. Plays with a ring. Flaps a hand at Gareth to get him to turn the music down. "A grand romantic gesture, Steve."

“Don’t.” Dustin hisses up at him, palm still pressing against Eddie’s stomach. “Can you guys not be gross at least when we’re here?”
Nobody else even cares, Eddie thinks sullenly but he’s still too busy staring longingly at his boyfriend to manage replying at the same time. Dustin’s look of annoyance turns into one of disgust and Eddie subconsciously touches a hand to the corner of his mouth. According to Robin he tends to drool sometimes when he’s looking at Steve. That doesn’t seem to be the case now though and he doesn’t even get a word in before Dustin’s groaning. All loud and dramatic.

During a game of D&D at his house, Dustin discovers something of Robin's that implies Steve isn't straight. Rather than have his best friend outed in front of Eddie and the kids, Steve accepts ownership of the item and his supposed 'queerness'. But what Steve never could have expected is how Eddie Munson reacts to his 'outing'.
