Summary
Quinn tries to drag his focus back to the present, back to the task at hand, but to no avail. He’s slipped too far. Thinking feels like trying to move through molasses, like trying to run in a nightmare. He squeezes his eyes shut and shakes his head a little as if trying to physically rid himself of the fog. It doesn’t clear. More hot tears slip down his cheeks as he tries his hardest to hold in a sob. It falls out anyway.
