He might actually be able to enjoy the night if he can just look away, forget Archie is there, and avoid any kind of confrontation — any reminder of what he used to hope this night would be like.
(or, the end of senior year is coming up quick, and jughead still hasn’t figured out what he wants to do after high school, or how to move on with his life when he’s still in love with his ex-best-friend).

“Well,” Betty says, cutting into his thoughts, “that means a wedding, and I wanted to ask you to be my best man.”
There is no word to describe Jughead’s feelings at the moment. No English word, anyway. Perhaps the Japanese or Maori had a word for “horrified but honored, usually in use with a gift one cannot refuse”.
“Of course,” Jughead grits out, probably with a stilted, grim look on his face. He knows that he’s supposed to be smiling.
“You can say no,” Betty says, letting go of his hand, not visibly slumping, but all the light going from her eyes.
“No, I really can’t,” Jughead says. He grabs her hand back. “Betty, I’m honored,” he says. “But why me?”
Betty looks at him like he’s a moron. It’s a rare look for him to receive from her. “I’m marrying my best friend,” she says. “So I’m asking my other best friend to help me get married.”
Jughead swallows. This is a terrible idea, right up there with Midtown and brunches. “I’m going to have to throw a bridal shower, aren’t I?”
Betty perks right up. “I love you!” she sing-songs, like this will carry the news better.

Another burst of gunfire was followed by screams and a roar that sounded like a really big and really angry tiger shredding metal with its teeth. That was not the T. rex. It roared again. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end. It was definitely not the T. rex.
The gunfire stopped. The screaming and roaring did not.
(Owen never makes it to paddock 11 but the Indominus still escapes. After a run in with the Indominus rex Owen wakes up injured and alone except for Blue. With the phones and internet down and no way off the island, Owen makes do)

When Ethan dies in a ball of fire so strong it levels the 'Village of Shadows' he expects that to be the end. But apparently Eveline decided it would be a good idea to throw a temper tantrum and lock him in purgatory with her.
Of course then she feels threatened because he's eating her mould vines prompting her to try killing him herself. He'd be fine with that (and no, he's not looking into that train of thought) but she starts telling him that once he was gone she was going possess Rose... So he eats her too (also not thinking about that).
He tries to pull himself back to the real world with the power boost but miscalculates a tad making him wake up as a six-year-old.
So now he's having to deal with body dysphoria, his trans-phobic parents, being a mould child (because that had stayed too), and Albert Wesker. He feels like Ethan but different. Wesker clearly feels it too because the man is fucking obsessed with playing happy families.
At least pre-knowing-about-bioweapons Chris isn't an asshole, Ethan would almost call him charming if he wasn't still mad about his last stunt.
