    “What do you think about moving in together?”

    Kojiro’s question cracks like a whip over what would otherwise be a very placid breakfast.

    He is sitting at the table, breakfast and coffee laid out in front of him. He looks calm. Calmer than he should look. Kaoru is up getting a second cup of tea. At the question, his hand clenches around the cup. It shakes a little bit. For reasons he isn’t quite ready to process, he’s panicking.

    And because he’s panicking, he says this:

    “No.”
     
    Kojiro wants to move in together. Kaoru copes by rehabbing his apartment.
