Bookmarker's Notes
It wasn’t what he’d dreamed of when he was younger, rescuing princesses and being the hero, and being loved for it. Because that was what it boiled down to in the end. He wanted to be loved. But love wasn’t like that. Love wasn’t the adulation of crowds, or a kiss from the damsel in distress, or having a bridge named after him. Love was Sasuke’s hand in his as Kakashi hunted them through an illusory forest, was Sakura surrendering in hopes of saving his life, it was Iruka with a fuuma shuriken in the back telling him to run, and Kakashi sensei watching over them with tired worried eyes, and Ebisu smiling at him and telling him he’d done well. It wasn’t glamorous, or flashy but a part of Naruto was starting to understand it was all the better, all the more real for that fact.

Summary
The ghosts of Team Minato haunted him every time he tried to close his eyes, so when Kakashi saw his former team standing in front of him, his first instinct was to attack, to destroy the unrelenting nightmares that consumed him for years. He fought viciously, desperately trying to crawl his way out of the abyss, when he heard that voice again.
Everything became too much for him to bear. For him to hear his sensei’s voice again, to hear the kindness, the caring, the concern and asking him how he had been like he had just seen him yesterday.
Like he hadn’t been dead for three years.
Or: Team Minato meets Anbu Kakashi at the lowest point of his life.

Summary
Harry Potter was sure he had a concussion.
He had just gained awareness of the world around him a moment ago and everything was so – disorienting, not to mention he couldn’t recall anything recent. His sight was blurry and almost black – not that his eyesight was good before, but he wasn’t blind, alright?
He was pretty sure these were all signs Hermione mentioned before.
So yes, Harry Potter had a concussion and he couldn’t move any of his limbs and that probably had something to do with the concussion he had previously mentioned. Weren’t concussions just hits to the brain anyways?
“She is beautiful.”
Fuck.
Or,
Harry Potter woke up as Shikamaru's younger sister and he would be damned if anyone thought he wasn't going to do anything about the freaking system where everyone thought child soldiers were perfectly fine.
