Twenty years after the war, Zuko has sent a letter to Sokka that he needs to come visit. They see each other regularly, but Sokka has never actually been to Caldera during the height of the summer season, because well he doesn't do great with heat.
But best friend calls, he'll answer.
And the heat is as bad as he expected. Even worse is that people, including Zuko, wear very little clothing at this time of year. Finding out your best friend is gorgeous and you have developed an instant crush on them after all these years, is likely to be a bit of a problem.

It is a horrible realization to have, that perhaps Zuko hadn’t thought this entirely through.
Because Sokka is everywhere.
He is in council, he is in the palace, in the barracks, the merchant yards, the gardens. He is bouldering his way into Zuko’s rooms without a second glance at the guards and dragging him out to go sightseeing, to go to the markets, to lay in the sand and watch the stars.
He is everywhere, and he is beautiful.
Or: Zuko asks his friend to come to the Fire Nation as a new council member, and struggles to survive under these conditions.

rly amazing, really leaned into the tiger features of atsushi and vampire features of aku - also emphasize preditor prey things. trauma consious and it plays big role so some angst but also lots of fluff and some deliciously filthy smut. overall rly good and well written but quite long

“Would you laugh if… I said yes?” Atsushi admitted, his voice small and feeble like a mouse. He dared not look back up into Akutagawa’s gaze - he felt as if he would only be met with a laugh - but the mafioso was silent and still underneath his hands. Slowly, his eyes trailed up Akutagawa’s body until they reached his gaze. His gaze was neutral; Atsushi searched for any signs of pity, any signs of amusement, but was left with none in his hands.
The corners of his mouth turned upwards.
“Then, Nakajima, let me teach you how to waltz.”

really really cute fic about company heir aku and housekeeper atsu. not rly bad power dynamics so that's nice and they stand up to more at the end. atsushi is mute but that doesn't rely bother anyone. characterization of atsushi is a little meeker than I would do but it works fine.
