The truth was that it had been a long time since Logan had a place to call home.
He had always been on the run, never stopping, never finding peace.
Always alone.
That was the reason why, as much as he enjoyed staying in that fucked up apartment with an unsufferable merc, an old lady fond of cocaine and the ugliest dog he had ever seen, a small part of his mind kept telling him that in the end he would leave once again.
He had done that before.
God, if he had been the man he was before meeting Wade, he would already had.
But this time he felt different. He wasn’t sure why, but for once he didn’t want to follow his instinct. So he stayed.

For the first few rounds it really is just a game. Bruce hides behind the couch and Mama makes a big show of looking under cushions and behind the curtains before she turns, slowly, and heads straight towards him. Before she gets the chance to peer over the back of the couch Bruce jumps out from his hiding place and tackles her legs. In response, Mama scoops him up into her arms and together they spin once, twice, three times, giggling all the way.
Their moment of blissful play is interrupted by the sound of keys rattling in the front door of the house.
“Remember the rules. And this time don’t come out until I tell you to. Can you remember that, Bruce?”

(or, Elsa doesn't quite expect herself to invite Jack and Ted to Bloodstone Manor the night after they'd all nearly died. She doesn't expect to fall for Jack, either, but Elsa has learned that her life never seems to go according to plan, and maybe that's okay).
