    On February 20th, 1973, Codename: Winter Soldier was assigned the mission of killing Texas Senator Harry Baxtor. Though the assassination was carried out with the necessary efficiency, the operative did not appear for his scheduled extraction. Priority is given to this asset’s retrieval.

    He knows this much:
    His name is James, and he is twenty years old. In 1954, he was assigned the codename of Winter Soldier for Department X, a clandestine arm of the KGB. He has been their agent since they saved him, an American soldier, at the end of the war, and his former allegiance to the United States makes him one of their most valuable undercover operatives in the fog of the Cold War.
    Yet, even though there were some twenty eight years between then and now, he automatically defaults to 1945 whenever he considers the year. And every time they release him from cryogenic stasis, he can’t help but recognize that the world steadily grows less and less familiar to navigate. In a mission to the United States during 1973, he decides to briefly put aside his obligation to Department X to pursue what little he can still recognize.
