This is the problem with Marigold, he tells himself, she drives him past the point of reason, and then he does extremely stupid things and places her in danger instead of being the voice of reason that she so desperately needs in her life. Don’t drink a semi-illegal love potion, Marigold. That’s the sort of thing that ought to be easy to tell a person to do, and yet she still seems convinced that she knows something facts don’t. That it’ll be different simply because she’s doing it.

Summary
Harsh golden light spills down over Minthara from above, intensifying to an eye-searing white along the edge of her sword. She’s close enough to Gale that he’s been forced up against the sewer wall, hardly a few inches between their faces, with the edge of that blade just kissing the underside of his already blood-spattered jaw.
Minthara snarls, pressing closer, her voice low and echoing with so much divine magic that it’s almost hard to understand, but Wyll makes out the three syllables well enough:
“Where. Is. He.”
(Or: Gale gets kidnapped. Minthara takes it well.)
