Of all the possible scenarios that had crossed Ga-yeong's mind over the years, when she had still been under the illusion that her father would visit her, she had never imagined that their reunion would happen while she was standing in her parents' kitchen in a seahorse-print bathrobe, peeling potatoes for dinner.
“Good morning.” Her appa smiles shyly. “It’s good to see you.”
For a moment she wants nothing more than to hug him as if the last seven years had never happened.
But it's not possible.
Because he is not really here. And he is not talking to her.
He's 6,000 miles away, giving a speech at the opening of some charity event, and she's in her apartment in Los Angeles, staring at the TV screen with her hands full of potatoes.
