Abolish rolled up the end of his glove to reveal two puncture wounds on his wrist, the skin raised where the scar tissue had healed around it.
“Oh,” Elle shuddered and leaned back heavily in her chair, “Right.”
It doesn’t really seem fair to let your friend die just so you can avoid the paperwork, so, in the wake of Martyn and Ren’s death, Abolish begrudgingly accepts vampirism. He wasn’t too fussed either way, if he was being totally honest, and if there was a chance to let the doc live, then he’s fine to pay the price.
It’s been a year, and Abolish and Legs have been working side-by-side- sire and fledgeling- in Abolish’s organisation, and they’ve mostly managed to put Oakhurst behind them.
But then someone knocks on the door of the organisation, asking for their help. They’re looking for their friend, who had gone missing somewhere near the town they’d been trying so desperately to forget about.

"Good, you're all here," a voice said. Jimmy recognized it immediately. It was the one that gave Impulse background information on their investigations. "I apologize for contacting you all with such short notice, but the situation is incredibly urgent and we cannot delay any longer. You've all been selected for this mission for your connections, knowledge and skills. We've lost contact with one of our teams, and their disappearance is highly unusual and we suspect something… otherworldly to be involved. We need you to follow their trail and look into the disappearances of Grian Xelqua, Impulse Essvee, Scar Goodtimes, Gem Tay, and Skizz Lehmann, otherwise known as the GIGGS team."
OR: The GIGGS team vanishes during an investigation under mysterious and disturbing circumstances. Jimmy Solidarity is brought onto a team to rescue them. They have two things to assist them: the final radio conversations, and a trail of cassette tapes left by Impulse, which document the experiences of the GIGGS team on their dark, horrifying journey as they try to survive and find help.

Everyone seemed to go still at the realisation of what this meant.
AU where Owen takes the cure that Abolish offers him, and immediately falls ill. Something to do with having a billion crippling illnesses and also having been dead for 200 years.
Unfortunately for Owen, the only doctor in town is the guy he kinda sorta brutally murdered not an hour before.

Summary
Mumbo turns around, dropping his face in his hands. His mosaic-like wings flap out from behind his shoulders. They’d been tucked in so close, Martyn hadn’t seen so much as a… feather? shift around.
Although they aren’t feathers, exactly, so much as hundreds of overlapping gemstones. They’re still damp from the shower water. They sparkle in the lantern light, bouncing it back the way they bounce the idle chatter all around them.
Wings? Since when did Mumbo have wings? Martyn’s thoughts buffer, dropping frames, then kick into HD at rapid-tumble pace. He clears his throat in the edge of one hand. Regains control. Hoooo… Okay.
Martyn and Mumbo cross paths while changing skins between games, post their husband roleplay in Last Life… and post Mumbo yoinking Grian’s soul, which may or may not have caused him to start sprouting wings. Oh, he looks good. Martyn's not denying it.

There are many ways something can be more than a player. Gods. Voids. Creatures. Those that are born as more, or those that are born as players. Known and unknown, obvious or not, there are many entities that are more than players.
Hermitcraft is home to many of these creatures. Sun god, Voidwalker, anchient builder, Joe Hills.
Mumbo Jumbo is not one of these creatures. He is a plain boring human who likes to do redstone. Mumbo just has some weird quirks, but in a group like the hermits, a couple small things is barley noticeable.
Turning into a god is a slow process, and unbeknownst to anyone, Mumbo hasn't been fully human for a very long time.
