Summary
She grabbed a couple of painkillers from the cabinet and swallowed them with a handful of water from the sink. Her hands shook as she brought the water to her mouth.
Rumi had time. She could finally focus on something other than faults and fears, and she intended to focus on things that mattered.

Zoey flipped her legs onto the sofa, sitting up and flashing her phone in front of them. Rumi and Mira both leaned forward to peer at the screen. Whoever had made the image had clearly used a stock image of them from their How It’s Done tour era, then digitally added clip art Santa hats. In large English at the top of the poster read the words ‘HUNTR/X ON /CE,’ and in smaller letters below, ‘Live at the Crypto.com Arena in LA, Cali!’ The whole thing looked like something put together in Canva.
They both stared at the screen, then simultaneously lifted their gaze to stare at Zoey, who innocently smiled back.
“Zoey.”
“Mira.”
“Why does this look like this look like a finished poster, and why is there a date on it?” She pointed to the phone screen, adding with some note of hysteria. “A date that is one month from now?!”

The girls have 4 weeks to prepare for an ice skating show. The only thing going smoothly is the ice.

The look Mira gave her was almost as searing as the sun as she very pointedly took Rumi's hand and lifted her arm, gesturing at her sleeve, "You're in a hoodie."
"I'm comfy!" Honestly she kind of just wanted to lay down.
"Rumi, it's—" Mira squinted up at a sign, "Zoey what's one fifteen F in real temperature numbers?"
"Forty-six or so," Zoey offered, coming in on Rumi's other side. "Rumi, drink some water."

Summary
Omegaverse sex comedy where Rumi thinks exclusively with her dick, and Mira never learnt not to play with her food.
With any luck, Rumi would make it through the next 30-90 minutes without pitching a tent in her pants, and the participant would write off her stilted behaviour as plain old social awkwardness.
Rumi could only thank her stars that the participant hadn't been another alpha, or worse, some omega. Anyone but a beta would have smelled her rut from a mile away and hunted her down accordingly.

Summary
It feels like being turned inside out, like every cell in her body is being torn apart and put back together wrong. The warehouse disappears into a blur of color and sound and then she's there, directly between Mira and the demon, close enough to see the surprise in Mira's eyes.
The demon's swing catches Rumi square in the ribs. She feels the impact, feels something crack deep inside, multiple somethings, bones splintering like dry wood, and then she's flying.

Or: Rumi would die a thousand times to keep her girls safe, and that's exactly what terrifies Mira most.
