Summary
Set around 200 years before the battle of Yavin, several decades prior to the birth of Palpatine, the Jedi Order and the Republic is experiencing the final drips of its golden age. Dark Jedi pop up occasionally, but are no great threat, and while there has been an uptick in piracy in the Outer Rim, the newly-created Trade Federation Navy has been dispatched as loyal protectors of the Republic to deal with it. However, one particular Jedi youngling has begun to brush dangerously close to heterodoxy, largely out of frustration with his own weakness. The truth is self-evident; he is Force Sensitive, but only barely, and lives in the constant shadow of the Order which adopted him--The only home he's ever known.
Nerim has known for a long time that he is not proper Jedi material, and has long-since given up on the prospect. This year will mark the birthday at which he will age out of his chance, and be rejected from the proper Order, sent instead to the Service Corps. But through a twist of fate, and a number of good teachers, Nerim begins to realize what being a Jedi is truly about, and that a lack of raw power is by no means disqualifying.
