One thing Keith was not expecting when he took on the mantle of the Leader of Voltron was for the entire universe to have an opinion on his personal life. It didn’t help that he himself wasn’t sure what James meant to him. Or what he meant to James.
Meanwhile, if the closest James could ever get to Keith now was bribing his giant wolf, then by god he was going to be the best bribe ever.

Word of Admiral Sanda's betrayal and deal with Sendak has reached the ears of the Coalition leaders. In response, they discuss whether the Garrison as a whole should be considered an enemy or not.
Keith and the paladins are called in to help. Unfortunately, words don't do much in terms of helping the Garrison regain the trust of the Coalition leaders. Fortunately, Allura has a plan. A strange plan, but a plan.
An old custom to help unite nations was a marriage between two individuals, one from one nation and the other from an opposing. It should be simple: a paladin will pretend to date a Garrison officer and that's that.
Except, the officer who volunteers is hopelessly pining for the paladin who volunteers. said paladin is also extremely oblivious when it comes to anything relationship included. That's where it gets complicated.

“You’d like me to schedule a date for you and Keith?”
Shirogane’s expression is unreadable, and James grips the arm rests of his seat tightly to mask his surprise. There is absolutely no way Shirogane can be poking fun, can really mean what he said in a humourous way. Instead of answering, James finds himself caught in the worst kind of stasis. He is too close to reaching for the glass on the table, before reprimanding himself because it’s not even his water to chug for lack of something better to do.
“Go ahead,” Shirogane gestures to the glass. “I can tell you’re thirsty.”
